PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The American Red Cross has rolled out a new app for iPhone
and Android.

Dave Schraeder with the southeastern Chapter of the American Red Cross says it’s all about hurricanes.“And basically this app gives them all kinds of information. First, you can track the hurricane as it
comes up the coast or towards your area.

You can track the storm in someone
else’s area. It gives you tips on what to
do before, what to do when it hits and what to do after it hits,” Schraeder said.
“You can go on there and tell people you’re safe; you can update your Facebook and Twitter status directly from this app.”
