Latest Technology News : iPad 3 Specification and review from engadget

The new iPad is official, with Retina
display, LTE and A5X CPU. Available. So, what'd you have in the office
pool? iPad 3, iPad 2S, iPad HD? Doesn't matter, really. All
that matters is that it's here! This is the next
generation of Apple's iOS slate and, as usual,
she's a beaut -- and yes, she's still rockin' a
physical button. As was rumored this thing is
packing a Retina display, potentially making this
the most pixel-packed slate on the market. The
9.7-inch screen plays host to 3.1 million pixels
in a 2048 x 1536 arrangement -- that's 264ppi.
It's not just a higher resolution though, the
screen also boasts improved color saturation.
Of course, what would a new iPad be without
some updated guts. The new model has an A5X
processor and quad-core graphics chip. Apple
even claims its newest sliver of silicon can
deliver four times the performance of a Tegra
3 -- we'd say dems fightin' words.
There's also a new iSight camera on board
that's quite similar to the version inside the
iPhone 4S. It's only five-megapixels, but it does
have a backside illuminated sensor with a five
element lens. It's also capable of capturing
1080p video, which should come as no surprise.
We're also excited to see the keyboard sporting
a brand new dictation key that lets you speak
instead of type -- yes, just like on Android.

Finance / Money News: Paypal services for Small Business ?

In addition to partnering with large retailers, it
looks like PayPal is going to be launching a set
of payments offerings for small businesses as
well. We just received an invitation for an
event PayPal is hosting next week, which will
unveil what the payments company has in store
for a solution for small businesses.
We've heard that similar to PayPal's
recently introduced in-store payments
technology for big box retailers, the company is
going to be launching an in-store payments
system focused on smaller merchants. It's
unclear what this technology will look like, but
we'll find out more next Thursday.
It's not surprising that PayPal is going after
small businesses with an in-store solution.
There's a huge market in providing a
payments platform for merchants, as evidenced
by the growth and success of Square.
It should be interesting to see how similar
PayPal's small business solution is to its in-
store platform.

TECHNOLOGY-How to Convert a Website into an Ebook | Search Engine Journal

Writing for blogs lends itself to many useful
possibilities. You’re regularly updating them
with fun and informative content, which makes
for a fantastic resource for anyone who comes
across it. However, if you’ve been thinking
about creating an ebook from the same kind of
niche, you may be lost as where to start. Well,
the best place to begin, ironically, is your blog
– you can easily turn it into an ebook without
emptying your pockets. In fact, you can
technically do it for free!
There are many possibilities as to what you can
create and what your goals could be. You might
want to produce a mass market read for
purchase or a free ebook that any of your
readers can download. Or a piece that is
formatted for a portable e-book reader may
best suit your audience, or even something
light enough to be sent as an e-mail
attachement.
Optimize your content for offline reading (let
your readers take your content with them
while traveling, having a vacation, etc);
Repurpose your content for more exposure!
Whatever you want, these tools can help you to

TECHNOLOGY ENTERTAINMENT - New Facebook App Lets Users Compose Last Update Before They Die | Digg Topnews

The deathbed is an inconvenient
place to compose your last
Facebook update. Frankly, at that
point, you might have other
priorities.
However, a new application for
the social media site called If I Die
gives people a chance to write
their final status update in
advance. Hopefully, long in
advance.
It works like this: After installing
the free app, a person chooses
three Facebook friends to be
"trustees" whose job is to verify
your eventual death. Once those
people are picked, the user can
then record videos or craft any
number of status updates that
will be published posthumously,
such as "Why didn't I spend
more time doing the mambo,"
"The pizza's better in heaven" or
"Can somebody tape 'The
Bachelor' for me?"
Once the trustees confirm your
death, the post-mortem
messages can be published all at
once to your Facebook wall or
released on a designated
schedule, according to
Mashable.com . REad more...

TECHNOLOGY : ANDROID NEWS FROM NOKIA CEO - My Latest Stories

Nokia’s Stephen Elop is Clueless
and Living in 2009, Still Talking
Android Fragmentation
So this story from Pocket-Lint is
floating around the web today
that quotes Nokia’s CEO Stephen
Elop. Not that this should surprise
anyone coming from the guy that
is betting the bank on Windows
Phone 7, but he of course
referenced Android and this
mythical fragmentation problem
it has. He is quoted as saying that
he doesn’t want fragmentation
“being introduced” to Windows
Phone because “we are” starting
to see it “become a problem” in a
“certain other eco-system.” And
time for a rant…
I could go into how idiotic the
CEO of one of the biggest
companies in the world sounds
when making this argument, but
I’ll instead just throw some
numbers at you and let them do
the talking. According to
January’s Android distribution
chart, 86% of Android users are
running two variations of the
operating system: Gingerbread
and Froyo. The other 14% is a
mix of pre-Froyo phones that are
2-3 years old and will soon vanish
from the face of the Earth along
with Honeycomb that will also
disappear since this version of
Android essentially will no longer
be supported going forward. All
Honeycomb tablets will be
upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich
making the 3.0+ category in this
distribution chart go bye-bye.

TECHNOLOGY TIPS - My Robot Nation lets you build your own mini-robot

Following a month long beta, My
Robot Nation has officially
launched its new website, which
offers everyone a chance to
create their own personalized
miniature robots. With the
browser-based building tools,
visitors to the website can
customize a robot from scratch,
which they can then order to be
generated with a 3D printer and
shipped to them. It may sound
like a simple concept, but that
simplicity is what sets My Robot
Nation apart from other 3D
printing services on the market.
While most companies require an
understanding of professional
3D imaging tools like CAD or
Maya, this one gives customers a
simple point-and-click platform
to build their creations right in
their browser. Using WebGL,
visitors can choose from an
assortment of parts, colors, and
graphics to build an interactive
3D rendering of their robots
piece by piece and view it from
all angles. It feels similar to the
Creature Creator in the video
game, Spore, or a virtual Mr.
Potato Head doll. If an order is
placed, the design is fed into one
of Z Corporation's 3D processing
machines to print a full-color
replica. The finished product will
feel like plaster of Paris and be
just as fragile, but will look
exactly like the rendering on the
website. With the impressive
amount of features to choose
from, there's almost a limitless
number of robots to be made.
