DropBox, that recently made cloud storage popular everywhere by offering free storage and interesting offers to win much more, has
moved on to the next step. The company has
released DropBox 1.40 for Windows, Mac and
Linux. This new update basically extends the
photo and video uploading tools that were
pioneered by Dropbox for Android, along with
allowing batch uploading and downloading of
files.

These new features were previously available
to only those running DropBox Experimental
Edition. The new release offers 2GB free
storage space to its users via a dedicated
folder on their desktop. This new system can
also automatically detect your camera, once it is connected to your laptop or PC and will start downloading all files before uploading them to your DropBox account with a few clicks.

However, one has to be careful about the
storage size, since the service uploads photos
and videos of any size, without resizing them.
But DropBox has an added advantage here too:
Dropbox offers to increase a user’s free
storage by 500MB as a reward for using the
auto-upload feature for the first time.
