Govt To Set Up Centre To Monitor Internet

The centre will be responsible for
assessing cyber security threat on a
real-time basis and will also be
responsible for monitoring Internet
traffic.
It seems the
Government is just not ready to let the
Internet run unmonitored in India. In its latest
initiative, a high-level meeting was organised
at the National Security Council Secretariat
(NSCS) where plans regarding setting up a
National Cyber Coordination Center (NCCC)
were discussed. The centre will be responsible
for assessing cyber security threat on a real
time basis and will also be responsible for
monitoring Internet traffic. The meeting was
attended by officials from IB, RAW, DRDO, Home
Ministry and Army.
